A Journey in Diving
I hail from a Parisian suburb, born in 1971. At the tender age of 14, I embarked on my first diving adventure, concurrently initiating my journey into piloting lessons. Over nearly four decades, I amassed around 3,500 dives.
In the early 1990s, I obtained my certification as a divemaster, and subsequently, I became a certified scuba instructor.
In the following decade, I expanded my horizons by becoming an underwater photographer and joining the French Professional Photographers' Union (UPP).

Oceans Became my Canvas
Through my lens, I seek to capture the beauty beneath the waves and aim to showcase the vastness and importance of our oceans. By presenting the splendors of the underwater world, I hope to contribute to the rising awareness of the urgency to protect and preserve our blue planet.
I'm also a member of Longitude 181, a French organization dedicated to advocating for ocean conservation through protective measures, research, awareness campaigns, and legal actions.
Longitude 181 focuses on safeguarding vulnerable marine species like sharks, rays, and sperm whales, as their well-being reflects the health of entire ecosystems. The organization also engages in public outreach, collaborates with divers, and conducts scientific expeditions to promote a harmonious relationship between humans and the ocean.
To achieve this, in 2002, Longitude 181 launched the International Guidelines For Responsible Diver, which was translated into 27 languages and adopted by several diving federations worldwide.
I can't emphasize enough how important it is to support this incredible organization, and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to consider making a donation to help amplify the Voice of the Ocean!
Over the years, some of my underwater photos have gained significant attention. Some were highlighted at the Underwater Image Festivals in Neuchâtel. One of my captures even adorned the cover of the "Paris Dive Show 2007." Furthermore, in 2005, at the World Underwater Pictures Festival in Antibes, my website won the "Palme d'Or" for its artistic approach, and I achieved 8ᵗʰ place in the international "portfolio" competition.
I also collaborate with media outlets as a freelance photo reporter. Notably, I am a member of the International Association of Press Photographers and the European Committee of Journalists.

From Ocean Depths to Flying High, and Legal Grounds
Though passionate about both sea and sky, my primary vocation shifted towards aviation, leading me to embrace the skies as an airline pilot.
For the past 34 years, I've flown for a major French airline and am currently a Boeing 777 captain while also holding technical functions within the company. This role doesn't just let me navigate the skies but also explore and dive into waters across the world.
In fact, the photo situated above this text was taken from the cockpit during one of my long-haul flights while overflying the Bahamas.
Beyond diving and flying, I've firmly 'held my ground' in the legal realm, earning a Master's degree in Law from the University of La Sorbonne in Paris, all while pursuing my Ph.D. studies.
I also serve as a labor court judge, a role I've held since 2008, and have served as a Colonel in the Air Transport Gendarmerie (GTA) in a citizen reservist capacity over the past decade, continuing my commitment as an officer.
